Healing Is Often Chosen by the Wounded

One of the most misunderstood truths about healing is this —the people who need healing the most are not always the ones who seek it.

In reality, it is often the victims who approach healers, therapists, or guides. The ones who have been hurt emotionally. The ones who were made to doubt themselves. The ones who kept adjusting, forgiving, understanding, and still felt empty inside.

This happens not because they are weak —but because they are aware.

People who have caused harm, consciously or unconsciously, often don’t feel the immediate impact of their actions. They move on. They justify. They normalize. And sometimes, they never stop to look inward.

But the wounded do. They sit with questions like:

  • “Why does this hurt so much?”

  • “Is something wrong with me?”

  • “Why do I feel so exhausted all the time?”

Seeking healing is not a sign of failure. It is a sign of emotional intelligence.

Many victims grow up learning to survive instead of feeling. They become high-functioning, responsible, and emotionally available for everyone else — while quietly neglecting themselves.

So when they finally seek therapy or healing, it’s not because they are broken. It’s because they are tired of carrying pain that was never theirs to begin with.

If you are someone who feels like you’re always the one doing the inner work, always trying to heal, always trying to understand — please hear this clearly: Your suffering is not a flaw. Your sensitivity is not a weakness. And your desire to heal is not accidental.

Healing is chosen by those who refuse to remain numb.By those who believe life can feel lighter.By those who are brave enough to face their wounds instead of running from them.

I feel immense gratitude for every soul who chooses healing — not because it is easy, but because it is honest. And if you are here, reading this, questioning, reflecting — you are already on the path.
